Vittoria Gay, a London-based interdisciplinary painter, will guide the workshop. Vittoria uses old, unwanted fabric that she sews meaning back into. The process begins with sourcing unwanted textiles such as second-hand clothing and friends’ old underwear. The fabric is then deconstructed, and hand-sewn collages are made into new surfaces. The surfaces are then stretched and layered first with gesso, and then oil paint. With this workshop, Vittoria hopes to inspire people to find new uses for materials once thought to be trash and give these materials a second life!
