Xingxin Hu (b.1988, Hunan, China) is captivated by intimate moments in movies that resonate deeply with her innermost experiences. By juxtaposing these moments with her personal history, Hu reconstructs them to create their own narrative.
Through her painting practice, Hu delves into the enigmatic grey areas of human psyche, exploring themes of suspicious desires, vulnerability, intricate complexities, and inherent uncertainties. This exploration is a deeply introspective process that allows Hu to examine herself while also encompassing the broader spectrum of humanity.
Hu has exhibited internationally, solo exhibitions include: Extra Brut, Peter Von Kant, London, UK; The South, Too Small Space, Beijing, China (2022).
