Moussa David Saleh is a painter whose practice is underpinned by a desire to paint serious subjects in a playful, vaguely subversive manner. With a background in political illustration -Saleh previously worked as a cartoonist for Newsweek Europe - his work seeks to examine perennial topics such as time, death and shame, as well as the question of how humans use formality to cloak our innate ferality. Recent exhibitions include 'A Personal Treasure' for Bow Arts, London (2024); 'Taste', OHSH Projects x Wönzimer, LA (2024); ‘South Open 2’, OHSH Projects, London (2024); ‘Accessible Art Show’, Black White Gallery, London, (2023); and ‘Skin Deep’, Studio West, London (2023), amongst others. Saleh completed the Correspondence Course with Turps Art School in 2023.
